Treat others in the way they would like to be treated

Sounds familiar doesn’t it. Actually most people use ‘treat others in the same way you would like to be treated’. If you think about it not everyone will always want to be treated in the same way as you. It will help others immensely if you treat them in the way they would like to be treated.

It’s subtle and so important to gain rapport quickly with just about anybody you meet. People will always remember you for how you made them feel, this is so powerful, even if they don’t remember your exact words. By treating them how they would like to be treated will help them open up. People much prefer talking to people that are similar to themselves. This can quite often be achieved by finding out whether you share some interests or hobbies. The trick is not to judge people too quickly. The match may not be perfect although as you both share more you will become closer. After all, sharing is what drives emotional connection and a feeling of safety.
